The steepest and most direct line to the summit, with minimal time for acclimatization in exchange for a genuinely demanding, quiet trail. A serious route we only recommend to fit, experienced high-altitude trekkers.
A steep, direct start straight up a forested ridge with minimal switchbacks – the fastest way onto the mountain, and a genuine leg-burner on day one.
Continue climbing steeply through changing vegetation zones until you emerge onto more open ground and join the busier Southern Circuit at Barranco Camp.
The Barranco Wall scramble opens the day, steep but straightforward, before an easier crossing toward Karanga Valley alongside climbers from other routes.
A shorter, steady climb across alpine desert to Barafu Camp, your final camp before the summit attempt.
A midnight start and a demanding climb to Stella Point for sunrise, then Uhuru Peak (5,895m), followed by a long descent down to Mweka Camp – a very full day given the compressed acclimatization schedule.
A final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate, where certificates are presented.
