Your journey begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where your private Safari Quest guide will be waiting to welcome you to Tanzania.
After meeting your guide and collecting your luggage, you will enjoy a comfortable transfer to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. Once you arrive at your hotel, you can check in and enjoy the facilities at your own pace. If you arrive early and feel like exploring, you may choose a light cultural experience or visit one of Arusha’s attractions. Alternatively, you can simply enjoy the swimming pool, gardens, restaurant, or other hotel facilities. Today is intentionally kept relaxed, giving you time to recover from your flight and settle into your surroundings.
In the evening, you can enjoy dinner and a relaxed safari briefing with your guide, preparing you for the adventure that begins tomorrow.
After breakfast, your safari adventure officially begins. Your private guide collects you from your hotel and you leave Arusha behind, heading toward Tarangire National Park.
As you approach the park, the scenery begins to change from the busy surroundings of Arusha to open countryside and savannah. Soon, the distinctive silhouettes of enormous baobab trees begin appearing across the landscape. After entering Tarangire, you begin your game drive. The park is particularly famous for its elephants and ancient baobab trees, which give Tarangire an identity very different from the other parks on your journey. Your guide will take you through different habitats, looking for wildlife while explaining the environment and animal behaviour.
After lunch, you continue exploring the park before making your way to your accommodation. The evening is yours to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
After breakfast, you have a final opportunity to enjoy the Tarangire area before beginning the journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park.
The drive takes you through changing landscapes, gradually moving toward the Ngorongoro highlands and eventually toward the Serengeti plains. Rather than feeling like a simple transfer, this is part of the safari experience, with your guide watching for wildlife along the way. As you approach Serengeti, the landscape becomes increasingly open, with enormous grasslands stretching toward the horizon.
From the gate, your journey to camp becomes an afternoon game drive. Depending on the season and the location of wildlife, you may begin seeing herds of wildebeest and zebra, while the Serengeti’s famous predators may also be somewhere nearby.
The Great Migration is one of the defining features of the Serengeti, although the location of the migrating herds changes throughout the year. The park also supports a remarkable resident wildlife population. Whether you travel during the calving or river crossing season, your guide will provide you with the opportunity to witness these remarkable events firsthand.
By late afternoon, you arrive at your lodge or tented camp. You can settle into your room, enjoy dinner, and relax after your journey.
Today is your full Serengeti day, with no long transfer and no need to pack your bags. After breakfast, you head out with your guide to explore the plains. This is where you have time to appreciate the enormous scale of the Serengeti and search for wildlife according to the conditions of the day.
The Serengeti is particularly famous for its large predator population, with lions and cheetahs among the major highlights. Depending on the season, you may also encounter large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra associated with the Great Migration. Your guide will choose areas based on recent wildlife activity, weather and seasonal movements. You can stop for a picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon exploration.
The beauty of having a full day here is that you are not rushing from one sight to another. You can spend time watching an interesting wildlife encounter, exploring a different landscape or simply enjoying the extraordinary scenery.
Later in the afternoon, you return to your accommodation for dinner and another night under the Serengeti sky.
After breakfast, you begin your journey toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will have some morning wildlife viewing before leaving Serengeti. The scenery gradually changes as the endless plains give way to the higher landscapes surrounding Ngorongoro.
This day is not designed to be rushed. Along the way, your guide can make appropriate stops to enjoy the scenery and wildlife opportunities. As you reach the Ngorongoro highlands, you can appreciate the dramatic volcanic landscape. If conditions and timing allow, you may stop at a suitable crater viewpoint and see the enormous caldera from above.
Rather than descending into the crater today, you continue to your accommodation near Ngorongoro or Karatu. This is important because it means you can have a proper night’s rest before tomorrow’s crater experience. Enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening in the highlands.
Today begins early with breakfast before you descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. From the crater rim, the view opens into a spectacular natural amphitheatre containing grasslands, wetlands and woodland. The crater’s enclosed ecosystem supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife.
One of the most special animals guests hope to encounter here is the black rhinoceros. The crater is also known for its resident lions, buffalo and other wildlife. You will spend several hours exploring the crater with your guide, stopping for a picnic lunch where appropriate and enjoying the scenery without trying to rush through the experience.
After your crater adventure, you ascend and begin the journey toward Arusha. From there, you connect with your flight to Zanzibar. By the time you arrive in Zanzibar, it will likely be late afternoon or evening, depending on the flight schedule. This evening is not counted as one of the three full Zanzibar days.
Your driver takes you directly to your beach hotel, where you check in, have dinner and finally relax beside the Indian Ocean.
Now the Zanzibar experience properly begins.
After breakfast, you have a full day to enjoy the island at a relaxed pace. Depending on where your hotel is located, you can spend the morning enjoying the beach, swimming or simply taking in the tropical surroundings.
For guests interested in culture, today can include Stone Town the historic heart of Zanzibar. Its narrow streets, Swahili architecture and famous carved wooden doors reflect the island’s mixture of African, Arab, Indian and European influences.
You can also combine the visit with a spice experience, where guests learn about cloves, vanilla, cinnamon and other spices associated with Zanzibar.
After lunch, you return toward the coast and have the rest of the afternoon free. This gives guests a choice between continuing to explore or simply enjoying the beach.
The evening is relaxed, with dinner and perhaps a sunset walk along the coast.
Today is designed to be slower.
After breakfast, guests have the freedom to enjoy Zanzibar’s beaches and warm Indian Ocean waters. After several days of safari, this is the perfect opportunity to completely change pace.
Those who want an active experience can choose an option and head to nakupenda island where they can experience relaxing in the sandbanks, swimming, snorkeling trip, dhow cruise, seeing marine life or other suitable marine activity, depending on the location of the hotel and sea conditions. While other guests prefer relaxation at the beach, enjoy the swimming or simply spend time reading and enjoying the surroundings. The afternoon remains deliberately flexible. There is no need to fill every hour of the day the whole point is to enjoy the island.
As the sun goes down, guests can enjoy their evening at the hotel or have dinner overlooking the ocean.
Today is your third full day in Zanzibar, giving you another complete day to enjoy the island before beginning your journey home.
After breakfast, guests can choose how they want to spend their final day. Some may want another peaceful morning on the beach, while others may prefer another cultural or marine experience. For guests who have already visited Stone Town and the spice farms, this can simply be a day of relaxation. They can swim, enjoy the beach, have lunch at the hotel and take in the tropical scenery or decide to visit Nungwi beach.
The afternoon can remain completely free, allowing guests to enjoy Zanzibar without feeling that they are following a strict timetable.
In the evening, they enjoy their final dinner on the island and have one last opportunity to watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean.
After breakfast, guests enjoy their final morning in Zanzibar according to their flight schedule.
There is no major excursion planned today. They can have a relaxed breakfast, take one final walk along the beach or simply enjoy the hotel before checking out.
When it is time, their private transfer takes them to Zanzibar Airport for their flight back home or to Kilimanjaro International Airport. At JRO, they connect with their international flight home, bringing their Tanzanian adventure to an end.
