2-Day Tanzania Safari: Tarangire & Ngorongoro Crater

You’ll be met on arrival and driven straight into Tarangire, so the first game drive happens the same day you land rather than the next morning. The park is built around a river that never fully dries up, which is why elephant families gather here in numbers you won’t see anywhere else nearby, moving between the water and the wide, flat-topped baobabs that give the landscape its shape

An early start gets you down onto the floor of Ngorongoro before the tour buses arrive, when the light is still soft, and the animals are most active. It’s a compact, self-contained world down there with lions, hyenas, buffalo, and, with some luck, one of the crater’s resident black rhinos before you climb back out for the drive to Arusha or your onward flight.
